Terms of Use
This site (Pass Cosmetology) and each course on it are owned and operated by DataPig LLC. By accessing or using them, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Study aid only. Every course here is an independent exam-preparation tool, provided for educational purposes only. It is not professional advice, and using it does not guarantee any examination result or outcome.
No affiliation. DataPig LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NIC (National-Interstate Council of State Boards of Cosmetology), PSI, Prov, Pearson VUE, or any state board of cosmetology, barbering, or electrology. Every course prepares the written/theory exam only — state boards administer licensing. Per-course disclosures:
- Pass Cosmetology: State boards set the passing cut and testing vendor. Verify your current state candidate bulletin.
- Esthetician Theory: State boards and NIC adoption vary. Verify your current state candidate bulletin.
- Nail Tech Theory: Based on the NIC Nail Technology Theory CIB content outline (effective Sept 1, 2025, rev. Mar 1, 2026). The passing cut is state-set (~70-75% typical), NOT NIC-set. Some states use a state-specific exam - confirm your state board bulletin.
- Barber Theory: Based on the NIC Barber Styling Theory Content Outline (CIB effective June 1, 2025, rev. Sept 1, 2025). The passing cut is state-set (~70-75% typical) - confirm your state board. Note the Barber-1 No-Chemical variant weights Scientific Concepts higher.
- Electrology Written: Built to the NIC (National Interstate Council) Electrology Written Examination Candidate Information Bulletin (Scientific Concepts 65% / Services 35%, 90 minutes) and the California reference-state instance (BBC written = 50 scored + 5 pretest, 75% aggregate pass, practical dropped 1/1/2022). The NIC NATIONAL written item count is not published on the public CIB, so this bank mirrors the verifiable California instance rather than asserting a national count. State licensing for electrology is limited (about 33 states license it; NY and TX do not) - verify your state board's current requirement. Original analogous items; no NIC exam content is reproduced.
Intellectual property. The site, its design, original content, audio, and software are © 2026 DataPig LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. All practice items are original study material; no proctored exam content is reproduced. You may use the site for your personal, non-commercial exam preparation only.
Payments & refunds. Each course is a separate one-time purchase, not a subscription — you are billed once per course and never auto-renewed. Purchasing one course grants access to that course only. If you are not satisfied, you get a full refund within 24 hours of purchase — processed automatically. Request it in-app (Help → Request a refund) or email support@passcosmetology.com. When a refund is issued, paid access to that course ends. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
